A Unified Future.....
Many counties affiliated to England Golf have successfully unified in recent years and several are now in negotiations. England Golf are actively encouraging counties to unifiy and provide advice and funding to aid counties in the process. Because of this EGU and ELCGA felt that it was time to enter into discussions with a view to unification.
The Essex Unification Committee (EUC) was established as a joint working group in 2021 to consider the benefits of the Essex Golf Union (EGU) and Essex Ladies County Golf Association (ELCGA) working together, with the purpose to review and consider the appropriate recommendation "For or Against Unification".
Discussions have reached a point where a Unification Process, has been prepared by the EUC, together with a New Business Structure, which can be put to the affiliated members for approval. During the Autumn of this year, Consultation Meetings will be held around the County with affiliated clubs to discuss the proposal and timetable of events.
Please be aware that the Unification process is a work in progress project and subject to change. Updates will be posted onto our Information for Clubs page on our website. The Management teams and Delegates of Clubs will also receive email updates.
