Lambourne GC was the host for our 1st SE Group League Fixture for 2023. We were taking on Hertfordshire and the hosts BB&O. On a bright but breezy day the team produced an excellent performance and ran out winners of both matches in the now familiar triangular matchplay format.
First out was Micah Blowers who halved his match, Ed Mason won a close match 2. Charlie Rusbridge went down to a 3&1 defeat in a very low scoring match where the boys shared 11 birdies. Henry Styles won match 4 6&4 and in match 5 Dawson Langan was victorious by a 3&1 margin. A solid performance from Mason Barningham gave him a 4&2 victory in match 6 and Ollie Baker won 5&4 in match 7. Boys Captain Marley Read was taken to the final hole before winning 2up which meant the final result was a great 6.5-1.5 scorline in our favour. This puts us in a strong position to do well in the league this year and our next match in July.
