Match Result Chelmsford 10 Essex U18s 8.
After a tight foursomes morning the U18s help a 1 point lead having won the first 3 matches before a Chelmsford fight back in the final 3 games. Heading into the singles a close contest was in store and despite some good performances from Mason, Dawson, Harry and Oliver it was a victory for experience over youth as the home club team used their local to very good effect in the afternoon to prevail. The match was played in great spirit and I had some really nice compliments from the Chelmsford team about the character and behaviour of the boys both on and off the golf course. We now look forward to the season proper and take a lot from the match to work on going forward. My thanks to Chelmsford Golf Club for hosting the match and to the green staff for presenting the course in fine condition.
