The Essex Seniors Plate is a competition for teams that did not progress through the first round of the Seniors Championship. Braintree GC won the plate in 2023, so it was their turn to host the final of the competition this year.
The plate is very competitive as the teams want to prove that losing in the first round was a slip up, and this was borne out by finalist Basildon who battled through the second round and quarter final by winning on holes won! Romford, however, managed to get through to the final with narrow victories.
The matches were competitively played however, Romford came through to win the plate by 6½ points to 3½ points.
